This week turned out to be pretty crazy. Our teacher, Hermana Ruiz is moving to New Jersey to go to school soon so tuesday was her last day teaching us. She was really sad to leave but also really excited to move to the united states. Our district was giving her a little bit of advice which im pretty sure just made her more nervous. We also started teaching TRC on saturday which is where REAL investigators come to the MTC to let us practice teaching in real situations. I was really nervous but Elder Johnson and I never even got the chance to teach. There werent enough voulenteers. We did get to practice being an investigator for some other missionaries instead though. They spoke almost no spanish and they had been here a week longer than us. As sad as it is to say, it really boosted my confidence in my spanish. We helped them go through a lesson and taught them some spanish they could use to teach the lesson. We got our regular investigator Guillermo ( our teacher) to accept the baptism invitation!! Our district is getting to be almost like a little family. We all love being around eachother so much and we do everything together. All the other teachers see how close we are and want us to show their classes how to get along. We are all really lucky to have such awesome missionaries in our class. One thing that was bugging me this week was how Elder Webster was making a super hero bracket in class everyday to see who the ultimate superhero is he spent multipul days working on it just so he and 20 other missionaries could get together today and argue over comics and movies. It was really starting to get on my nerves until I realized I souldnt let it affect me. For Lunch one day we had these porkchops that were as hard as a rock. It was the first meal I literally could not eat. I ate half of it and I felt like I was going to throw up the rest of the day. Tuesday was a really crazy day!! I thought the day couldnt get any worse when they made us switch classrooms to the farthest building away from everything. But boy was I wrong. After dinner and language we had our free time until bed and Elder Johnson heard there was an Elder next door that was really good at giving hair cuts. (which we found out that is against the rules) When we got their a Huge elder from the Dominican Republic grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against the wall. He was just screaming at him and everyone was laughing so I knew it was a joke. I was trying to calm him down a little and he finally let go and walked away. apparently it had happened to 6 or 7 other elders in the past 20 minutes. We decided to just leave without getting his hair cut and 5 minutes later we heard that a tiny little mexican elder was standing up to the Dominican elder for picking on all the americans. Elder Meases (the dominican) picked up the other elder and dropped him, kneeing him between the legs. We imedeatly got everyone who had anything happen to them and told one of the MTC Presidents. As sad as it is, I am pretty sure Elder Meases is going home. The other elder was in a lot of pain and he still is today. It was a long night. The next day was much better. Durring our Book of Mormon study, our teacher stopped and had us go find a quiet spot to pray alone and ask if the Book of Mormon was true. I realized I had never actually prayed to know if it was true because I had always just known so this was a good opportunity to do it. I prayed for what seemed like 2 minutes which was acutally almost 10. I felt the spirit so strong and It only made me love realing the scripures more. We had to be taken out of class that day to go tell the doctor one by what what we saw happen the night before with elder Meases and it took a long time. It was nice just being able to talk to the doctor and share how I felt about everything that had happened. As crazy as this week was, It went by really fast. I know that I will be out in the field in no time at all and it is scaring me a little bit. I really love it here and I am going to miss it. The spirit is so strong with all the other missionaries around at all times but I know that the Lord will always be with me throughout my entire mission!

July 8, 2016That is really good to hear that grandma isnt alone! And that the funeral went good. I had just walked in the door and sat down in the orientation when I heard someone calling my name saying you were on the phone. As soon as I heard that, I imedeatley thought of grandpa. Im happy i was here and it was sooner in my mission than later. It was hard to hear but they dont give you much time to think around here. well only about the language and the gospel i guess. My companions name is Elder Johnson. He is from Madesto California and he is awesome. He just graduated also and he is in my same mission! I might be able to send some pictures but I havent taken very many yet. We are only allowed to take pictures on P Day and it got changed to today, friday, instead of the original wednesday. We had even less time to do laundry and email today because they told us today was our assigned day to go to the temple and we just got back! It is so beautiful. Everyone had the english headphones but our district decided not to use them and see how it went. It was acutally really cool! The food has been amazing! Yes I am getting good sleep and yes I am falling asleep in class. But not fully asleep. Some random things that happened Elder Johnson and I were walking down the street and there were a bunch of birds in the road and we scared them and one of them flew into the window and died. HAHA it was funny but I felt bad! We already finnished teaching our first investigator. Bere. She was actually just our teacher but we really started to get attatched. We got her to commit to baptism and then they told us the next lesson was our last with her. It was actually hard to tell her we were not going to be teaching her anymore. I have to hurry and read the rest of your emails so im going to end this one but I will write more on others.
Love you lots, Elder Perry
